As Christians, we are called to love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31). At Gilmour, we believe that serving our community is an essential part of living out this commandment. Our outreach team is dedicated to reaching the people of Peterborough in practical ways, and two areas where we focus our efforts are street evangelism and helping those who are homeless.
Street Evangelism: Sharing the Good News
Our outreach team regularly visits the streets of Peterborough to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people. We believe that everyone needs to hear the Gospel, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our goal is not to be confrontational or aggressive, but rather to approach others with kindness, compassion, and respect.
We take every opportunity to share our faith with those we meet, whether it’s through a brief conversation or a more in-depth discussion. We want to show people that Jesus loves them, cares for them, and has a plan for their lives.
Helping the Homeless: Serving Those in Need
In addition to street evangelism, our outreach team is also committed to serving those who are homeless in our community. We believe that every person deserves dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of their circumstances.
Our goal is not only to meet the physical needs of others but also to share the love of Christ with those we serve. We want to show people that they are not alone, that God loves them, and that He has a plan for their lives.
